Program Highlights

DESERT WALK

If there are two classes, they will be split up for two separate walks. Second grade groups will need to be in 5 groups for each class and ideally have at least one adult per group. The walk will be anywhere from 60-75 mins depending on weather, students, etc. It is important that the teachers are there for the walk to help with any behavioral issues and to participate in the learning experience so that any lesson extensions can be designed for back at school.

ANIMAL PRESENTATION

After lunch, a Cooper Staff Member will lead an animal presentation for 30 minutes. Students will learn about our resident reptiles, their life cycle, what they eat and where they live.  After a presentation and Q & A session, students will have a chance to safely touch the critters and will be given hand sanitizer to clean up after the presentation.
