Cooper Center Director Colin Waite was featured on NPR's Arizona Spotlight, sharing news about our work during the pandemic, and our exciting construction plans ahead.

Tucson Weekly reporter Joe Giddens covered the Camp Cooper Extreme Makeover for the Tucson Weekly this week. We are so grateful for their help in spreading the word about our effort to raise $500,000 towards new bathrooms, showers and a solar shaded classroom facility, all part of Phase I of a comprehensive Camp Cooper remodel we expect to complete over the next 5 years.  Our efforts to update our nearly 40 year old facilities link to our mission, and our drive to expand the number of students we are able to serve each year by making our facilities more capable, comfortable and accessible.

Wow! Paige and Brittne had a very cool morning at Camp Cooper yesterday. The pictures attached are of a live capture of a male bobcat just south of the camp in Tucson Mountain Park, with permission from Pima County.

On Dec. 4th, Camp Cooper director Colin Waite was joined by TUSD Superintendent Gabriel Trujillo and University of Arizona College of Education Dean Bruce Johnson to announce Phase I of our Master Plan and kickoff our Capital Campaign.

Wow, do we have something BIG to share at the end of next week! This monumental announcement will change the future of Camp Cooper in a major way, and it’s all good news!
