Tracking Bobcats Near Camp Cooper

Wow! Paige and Brittne had a very cool morning at Camp Cooper yesterday. The pictures attached are of a live capture of a male bobcat just south of the camp in Tucson Mountain Park, with permission from Pima County.

The cat received a radio collar and will be tracked as part of a study by the Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center, with funding from AZ Game and Fish Department's Heritage Fund. The study is called "Bobcats in Tucson: A Study of Bobcats Living along the Urban/Wildlands Interface." For the purposes of the study, the bobcat has been named...Cooper! He's also the largest bobcat they have collared so far! More info on the research study can be found at:
