The first phase of our Master Plan is fully funded!

That's right! Our goal of raising $500,000 to build new bathroom and shower facilities was met, and exceeded, last week thanks to donations large and small from our dedicated Camp Cooper supporters.

We have raised $579,155 for construction, which doesn't include $39,575 originally raised for planning and design. All told, we have raised $618,730 for new bathrooms & showers - a record-breaking investment in our facility that enables us to confidently move forward with construction and sets a strong precedent for future facilities fundraising.

We are grateful for your support.

The changes we are about to make will last for generations, ensuring that Camp Cooper becomes more accommodating, sustainable, and inspirational. Donor gifts are making this possible, and we are so grateful for (and humbled by) this support. In these challenging times, support means more than ever.

What happens next?

The project is now out to bid.

On Tuesday March 9th, the TUSD Governing Board unanimously agreed to send our project out to bid.
Our architects at Swaim Associates will present the project to bidders this month and we expect to select and submit a bid for approval by the TUSD Governing Board at their April 13th meeting.

The TEP Solar-Shaded Classroom

A special thanks to Tucson Electric Power for helping to underwrite our solar-shaded classroom, a gateway to outdoor adventures at Camp Cooper.

Tucson Electric Power (TEP) has provided funds to build a solar-shaded outdoor classroom area adjoining our new bathroom & shower complex, which will serve as a gateway to hiking trails where many of our educational programs take place.

If the bidding and construction process remains on schedule, we are eager to unveil our new solar-shaded classroom fall of 2021!
