Cooper Crowdfunding Happy Hour Celebration!

In celebration of Camp Cooper’s new direction and as a way to connect with people from across the region and beyond, Cooper will host a live stream happy hour event on Friday, September 18th, starting at 5:30pm. The free event will feature live music, guest speakers, and a special appearance by local star and nationally acclaimed cartoonist, David Fitzsimmons.

Headlining the event is world renowned jazz singer Ann Hampton Callaway, who recently moved from New York to Tucson. Callaway’s accolades include being named “Performer of the Year” and “Best Jazz Vocalist” by Broadwayworld.com. She is best known for her Tony-nominated performance in the hit Broadway musical "Swing!" and for writing and singing the theme song to the hit TV series "The Nanny." Callaway is also a Platinum Award winning writer whose songs are featured on seven Barbra Streisand albums.

Callaway is joined in the Camp Cooper celebration by P.D. Ronstadt, a fifth generation Ronstadt, son of the late Michael J. Ronstadt, nephew of the legendary Linda Ronstadt. P.D. explores the musical heritage of his family while presenting new and original material, drawing inspiration from all the elements of his upbringing.

Other special guests include Dr. Gabriel Trujillo, superintendent of TUSD, in conversation with Bruce Johnson, dean of the College of Education at the University of Arizona.
