The Cooper Center for Environmental Learning offers several different adventurous and hands-on learning experiences for students in grades K-8 from Southern Arizona and beyond. Our programs, from our half-day, full-day, and overnight trips to our multi-night Sunship III and Earthkeepers trips, give each learner a better understanding of key ecological concepts while opening them up to the wonders of the natural world that surrounds us in the Sonoran Desert.

The single-day offerings are the Half and Full Day Experiences for K-8 students. Each grade level has differentiated curriculum and the field trip can be anywhere from 3 hours to 24 hours. This is also when teachers and parents lead afternoon Activity Centers.

The multi-day offerings include two programs that are three days and two nights long and both have a component to complete at school after the trip to the Cooper Center. These programs are much more time-consuming and require significant preparation and volunteers, but are some of the most powerful learning and bonding experiences we offer.

            Sunship III (Grades 7-8)

            Earthkeepers (Grades 4-5)

The Cooper Center is available to learners of all ages. You can Rent Cooper and run your own programs in our facility or Contact Us to discuss other program possibilities (high school groups, adult learners, preschool groups, clubs, community organizations, etc.)
